Release Notes

New on this release:

1) Changed the cell value property to be an Object. This allows for a more natural way of setting the values.

For example, instead of:

cell.Value = DateTime.Now.ToString();

You can now do:

cell.Value = DateTime.Now;

At the same time you can get the boxed object from the .Value property:

DateTime dateTime = (DateTime)cell.Value;

See examples Data Types, Basic Table, and Cell Values

2) Added the following methods to IXLCell which will hopefully result in less casting on your side:

T GetValue<T>();
String GetString();
String GetFormattedValue();
Double GetDouble();
Boolean GetBoolean();
DateTime GetDateTime();

So instead of doing something like:

DateTime dateTime = DateTime.Parse(cell.Value);

You can now do one of the following, whichever suits you:

DateTime dateTime = cell.GetDateTime();

DateTime dateTime = cell.GetValue<DateTime>();

See example Cell Values

3) Removed the Load(String file) method from the XLWorkbook interface in favor of the existing contructor "XLWorkbook(String file)". Since you have to load

the file before doing anything else, it doesn't make sense not to put it in the constructor.

4) Added the following methods to ranges:

IXLCell FirstCellUsed(Boolean ignoreStyle = true);
IXLCell LastCellUsed(Boolean ignoreStyle = true);

New Examples:
Shifting Ranges
Cell Values
Using Lambda Expressions
Using Default Styles

Examples changed:
Data Types
Basic Table
