Unable to build .net 3.5 in vs2008

May 5, 2011 at 8:57 AM

Hi,

I'm not able to build the .net 3.5 version of the projcet in VS2008. i keep getting errors about "Default parameter specifiers are not permitted".

It appears that the .NET 3.5 project is referencing it's source files from the .NET 4.0 project. Obviously in .NET 4.0 default parameters are allowed, however in 3.5 they are not.

I am using the latest changeset to try and build the source.

Is there a workaround to this? Please note that I cannot upgrade to .NET 4.0 at this time.

Thanks,

Gary

The .NET 3.5 project compiles to the 3.5 Framework but the project itself is in VS2010. You could use VS2010 Express to open the project or create a new project on VS2008 and copy the classes.

I am feeling a bit thick here as I seemed to have missed something. Copy which classes? The 3.5 project references the 4.0 Excel project classes?

Thanks,

The 3.5 project references the files on the 4.0 project so you can just add those files to your VS2008 project. You'll have some editing to do as I sometimes use default parameters.
